In order to minimise the amount of emissions Mahindra| in line with other environmentally conscious manufacturers seeking to meet the latest Euro6 emissions standards| has introduced AdBlue. Essentially AdBlue is a fuel additive that’s injected in to the exhaust system to reduce the amount of nitrogen oxides in the exhaust.

AdBlue is carried in a plastic tank mounted underneath the vehicle and accessed through a filler like the fuel. In the Pik Up automatics this tank is on the opposite side to the fuel tank| mounted on the driver’s side in front of the back axle. It has more than enough capacity to carry the vehicle from one service interval to the next but being underneath the vehicle it’s at risk of exposure to rocks and gravel thrown up from the rear wheels. If the AdBlue tank gets a leak| the motor will shut down and you’ll be stranded.
